The blend of varieties, that are sometimes even fermented together, create a rarely encountered complexity, balance and harmony in the resultant wine. Lifted and attractive on the nose, aromas of blueberry, blackcurrant, tobacco and sweet spice combines with the oak derived notes of mocha toast. Rich, ripe and balanced in the mouth, indulgent dark fruit and chocolate flavours dominate, set against silky soft tannins and a velvety, rounded texture. Talisman is a wine that can be enjoyed now or cellared for up to a decade. When drunk young, this wine makes an excellent pairing with venison carpaccio with truffle balsamic dressing.£3.07 per 100.00ml
Crossroads winery was established in 1987 with the aim of producing the best possible wine from the Hawke's Bay region of New Zealand. The wines are generally produced in small quantities from a range of different grape varieties and are very much regional in expression and terroir-lead in style. Talisman is the producer's top release and represents a secret blend of red grape varieties known only to the Crossroads winemaker.
