Jayson Woodbridge is one of California’s most flamboyant and talented wine producers. Having set up his winery in 2000, Woodbridge earned recognition from the very start when his second ever vintage received 93 Parker points – resulting in a five-year waiting list for his Hundred Acre vintages. 100% dedicated to Cabernet Sauvignon, Woodbridge makes wines primarily himself with a little bit of help from wine consultant Philippe Melka. The Hundred Acred wines are mainly characterised by incredibly opulent and creamy textures, with extraordinarily sweet and noble tannins.
“The 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon Few and Far Between, from a five-acre parcel on what Jayson Woodbridge calls the ‘upside’ of the Eisele Vineyard, includes about 15% Cabernet Franc (making it the only non-100% Cabernet Sauvignon offering in this portfolio). It boasts a dense purple colour along with abundant aromas of flowers, crushed rocks, sweet black currants and black cherries, burning embers, camphor and earth. Deep and full-bodied with great fruit, richness and concentration, it should drink well for 15 or more years.” 96/98 Points- Robert Parker.£58 per 100.00ml
