1. Do I need to have a valid work permit?

Yes. All candidates will be required to produce proof of right to work before employment can commence.

2. What benefits will I receive?

Harvey Nichols offers an attractive benefits package which includes generous discounts in all of our stores, restaurants, cafes and bars, along with holidays which increase with length of service and other external discounts.

3. Do I need to provide my own uniform?

Dress codes apply across the business.

Within hospitality, uniforms will be provided where required.

For shop-floor positions, you will be advised by your line manager about appropriate dress.

4. Do I need to have fashion retail experience?

For store-based positions, we are looking for people who can provide excellent customer service. Fashion retail experience is also desirable. For some Head Office positions, fashion retail experience is essential. For hospitality positions, we are looking for experience relevant to each role.

5. What are the transport links to and from your sites?

Most of our sites are in the centre of large cities with good transport links.

6. When can I expect to hear about the outcome of my application?

We will notify all applicants of the outcome of their application within 4 weeks. All online applications will be acknowledged upon receipt. All applications are held on file for 6 months unless we are instructed otherwise.

7. What training and development opportunities do you provide?

All employees attend an induction when they start at Harvey Nichols. From then on your training will be a continuous development process including on-the-job competency training, specific in-house training courses as well as the opportunities to attend external training courses related to your chosen career.

8. What are the opportunities to progress and develop within the Company?

9. Do you offer a graduate training scheme?

Although we do not offer a specific graduate training scheme, there are many entry level positions suitable for graduates, which provide on-the-job competency training and opportunities to progress. See also questions 1 and 8.
