This is the first release of Red Hill South Pinot Noir and marks a highly impressive debut. Influenced by the famous red wines of Burgundy, this wine is subtle and complex with perfumed aromas of blueberry, dark cherry, cedar and pine. Elegant, light and fresh on the palate, this haunting wine has a savoury, earthy quality set against pronounced red berry fruit flavours supported by a nimble, perfectly balanced structure. Awarded 94 points by influential Australian wine critic James Halliday, this is arguably one of the finest expressions of Australian Pinot Noir currently available.£4.13 per 100.00ml
Circe represents an exciting new joint venture between Dan Buckle and Aaron Drummond. The duo met in 2007 at Mount Langi Ghiran where Dan received considerable international acclaim for his show-stopping Shiraz wines. Both Aaron and Dan grew up on the Mornington Peninsula and were keen and curious as to what they could do with Pinot Noir in this fast-emerging Australian region. The name Circe derives from Homer and is a subtle metaphor for the seductions (and perils) of this tricky grape variety.
