Although more famous for their red wines, Domaine Vieux Télégraphe's Châteauneuf-du-Pape is regarded as one of the region’s very best white examples. A varietal blend a blend of 40% Clairette, 30% Grenache Blanc - plus a small proportion of old vine Roussanne and Bourboulenc - the wine is aged in tank and large oak barrels ahead of being released. Elegant and fresh on the nose, this wine displays enticingly youthful aromas of green apple, pear, hazelnut, spice and honey. The palate is mid-bodied with subtle complexity and a silky texture. Flavours of orchard fruit, minerality and cinnamon combine with a savoury herbal notes plus a whisper of oak. Delicious to drink now but will further improve over the course of the next five years and beyond. Makes a perfect match when paired with grilled or sauced fish, asparagus dishes and tomato salad with olive oil.£6.33 per 100.00ml
