The impressive credentials of this iconic wine by Domaines Ott make it one of the most recognisable and coveted rosés on the market. Located in Provence, this estate was acquired in 1936 by Marcell Ott who re-planted and recultivated the existing vineyards. This unique site combines cooling sea breezes with the schist metamorphic mineral content of the soil along with a privileged localised micro-climate to produce wonderfully balanced and elegant wines. Ott Mirielle Coeur de Grain Rosé is produced from the best quality, hand-picked Grenache, Cinsault and Syrah grapes and aged in oak casks for six to eight months. This 2013 release is salmon pink in colour with peach and orange tints and aromas of white stone fruit, minerals and brioche. The palate is dry, well balanced and finely structured with delicate fruit flavours of peach, cream and hints of sweet orange citrus. Lingering notes of pepper and nectarine dominate the long-lived finish. Quite simply, a wonderful wine that lives up to the lofty reputation commanded by this iconic domaine.
