Pandoro, as it is known nowadays, orignates from Verona where the original recipe dates back to late 1800 with its classical octagonal shape being introduced in the last century. Traditionally made by the most celebrated pattisseurs, it is now widely enjoyed throughout Italy. Harvey Nichols Pandoro is created by a careful blending of butter, eggs and sugar, followed by a complex and lengthy leavening process with the use of natural yeast. It comes with a sachet of icing sugar to be dredged over the distinctive cake before serving.
