Experimental winemaker Jules Taylor is one of the few New Zealand names championing the Austrian grape variety, Grüner Veltliner. In her view, this variety is ideally suited to the Marlborough region and could be New Zealand's next big white variety – if this outstanding release is anything to go by, she may be proved right. Generous and opulent in style, the nose displays an abundance of flora, nectarine and spicy aromatics, whilst the palate is full bodied and intense with flavours that include peach, mineral, white pepper and exotic spices. A bold but beautifully balanced expression, it offers a highly rewarding drinking experience for the adventurously inclined. Pair this wine with Asian, Thai and Chinese dishes for an inspired combination.
