The beautiful boutique wine estate of Keermont lies in the natural amphitheatre of the Blaauwklippen valley and was as recently as 2003 planted with fruit orchards and flowers. When the Wraith family bought it they immediately recognised its potential for growing grapes and started a vineyard planting programme that would take over seven years to complete. Enormous efforts were put into deciding the right rootstocks, clones, planning and training systems to match the red clay loam soils of their 27 hectares of vineyards. Today the estate is producing some of South Africa’s most terroir driven wines.
Terrasse 2013 is a white blend with its name deriving from the terraced vineyards in Stellenbosch Mountains from which the grapes were harvested. The backbone of this blend is Chenin Blanc which is complemented by Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc and Viognier. A polished light yellow gold colour, this wine has a bouquet of citrus blossom with hazelnut, lemongrass and butterscotch undertones. The wine has a soft, sweet entry with a racy linear lingering dry earthy finish. A textured white wine with layers of flavours.£3.13 per 100.00ml
