This Manzanilla from Lustau is aged in a Bodega facing La Calzada beach on the river bank. Only one cask from a Solera 135 has been set aside, chosen for its delicate and rare characteristics. The Manzanilla de Sanlúcar en Rama shows an elegant straw colour with golden hints. Boasting bakery and camomile aromas and a mineral background, on the palate it is deliciously long, crisp and almost saline. This first release is extremely limited and the wines are bottled straight from cask without finning, filtering or any other method of stabilisation.£4.2 per 100.00ml
Founded in 1896, Lustau has more than a century of history as a Sherry producer. For more than thirty years it has been applying a boutique concept to its winemaking, building up a selection of some thirty wines from its own Soleras and others chosen from the stocks of the small Almacenista producers. These are aged in all three of the cities of the Sherry area: Jerez de la Frontera, El Puerto de Santa María and Sanlúcar de Barrameda. Now Lustau has taken this quality approach a step further, releasing for the first time two finos and a Manzanilla - En Rama.
