Cuvée Eugenie is a méthode champenoise wine named after the grande dame of the estate Eugenie Limouzy, and is composed of 50% Chardonnay, 40% Chenin Blanc and 10% of the local grape variety Mauzac. Aromas of baked apples, honey and herbs grace a savoury, broad nose whilst the palate is rich, nutty and full with fine acidity and an elegant long finish.
The southern French appelation of Limoux represents the first region to make sparkling wines using the traditional method, long before Champagne even existed. This beautiful example comes from arguably the most prestigious producer in the region, Maison Antech, which dates back over six generations and has been influential in putting the wines of Limoux back on the map.
