Our favourite miso soup brand, Miso Tasty, came about because blogger Bonnie Chung had a passion for top quality miso, but was underwhelmed by the offer available. So, she decided to search out the best miso she could find and package it up so we could enjoy it too!
First came her innovative soups, and now we also have their miso pastes in jars - a Shiro version (white miso) and an Aka miso (red miso). The Shiro miso is generally considered sweeter than the Aka which is left to develop for longer, hence the darker, more red colouring and stronger flavour in the red.
Miso is versatile and easy to use, and these jars will last a long time as the umami punch means you don't need much to get maximum flavour. Use in stocks, to make ramen soups or as a marinade - it goes particularly well with salmon or aubergine.
Ingredients: Water, Organic Soy Beans, Organic Rice, Ethanol, Yeast, Koji Culture.
