Husband and wife team Sashi Moorman and Melissa Sorongon, are the owners of small winery and bakery Piedrasassi, located in Lompoc, where they produce small amounts of Syrah from distinctive vineyards on the Central Coast as well as grow heirloom varieties of wheat for the production of artisan breads. P.S Central Coast Syrah, is mainly sourced from younger vines and grown in sandier soils in lower elevations along the Central Coast of California and represents Piedrasassi’s interpretation of the spicy, exuberant side of Syrah found throughout the cooler climates of California. Aged for 11 months in neutral barrels and bottled with extremely low levels of sulphur, this wine offers a generous purity of fruit, with lots of layers and complex notes of blackberries, olive, pepper and hints of leather.
