Founded in 1974, Querciabella enjoys the acclaim of the world’s most discerning critics and consumers for its excellent range of biodynamic wines. In pursuit of quality, sustainability and authenticity, Querciabella has continually honed its approach to biodynamic viticulture for over a decade. With vineyards located throughout Tuscany’s Chianti Classico and Maremma areas, Querciabella exemplifies the preservation of tradition through forward-thinking, albeit completely natural, winemaking. Querciabella Chianti Classico is a blend of Sangiovese (95%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (5%) and is a leading example of the modern reds being produced from Tuscany. Produced from carefully selected grapes, the wine is aged in French oak (only 10% new) for 14 months before the best lots are blended and bottled. Enticing and fruit-driven on the nose, this stylish red displays aromas of dark cherry, violets, spice and berries. Fresh and pronounced on the palate, there is a lovely purity and focus to the wine which is impeccably balanced with refreshing acidity and fine tannins. A fine example of Chianti which offers something pleasingly different and highly rewarding.
