The 2010 is a classic release which exudes minerality, floral elegance and great purity of flavour. Silky and fresh in the mouth with a vibrant expressive character and wonderful structure, this rare magnum format is highly collectable and will continue to develop and improve over the next 25 years and beyond. "... Intensely saline, savory and energetic. Rosemary, sage, plum and black cherry notes meld into graphite, crushed rocks and a host of other more mineral-inflected nuances. Beautifully persistent and chiseled in the glass, the 2010 is ultimately all about energy. This is going to be a fascinating vintage to follow. 96 points" - Antonio Galloni£22 per 100.00ml
Arguably Italy's most famous and collectable wine, Tenuta San Guido's Sassicaia has an iconic reputation built on incredible longevity and exceptional quality. The name Sassicaia translates as 'the place of many stones', and refers to the region's gravel rich soil, similar to that of areas of Bordeaux which were an inspiration for the creation of this wine. Composed of a blend of 85% Cabernet Sauvignon and 15% Cabernet Franc, the first release of Sassicaia was released in 1971 and was greeted with immediate acclaim. Since then this 'Super-Tuscan' wine has gone from strength to strength and is always in high demand.
