Made predominantly from the local variety Nerello Mascalese, a 2% addition of old vine Nerello Cappuccio imparts an added dimension of complexity and lift to this Terre Nere blend. Fragrant and fresh on the nose, it shows a range of savoury and indulgent aromas that include sweet tea, raspberry, cranberry and orange peel, plus a mellow undercurrent of roasted coffee beans. Medium bodied, it is softly structured on the palate with an attractive plum and cherry flavour profile and an elegant, almost ethereal, character. Drinking beautifully well now, this wine is soft enough to enjoy by itself but truly blooms with lighter white or red meat dishes.
