Boutique-y Whisky Company bottles single malts, single grains, blended malts and blends from a variety of renowned distilleries. Batch 2 of That Boutique-y Whisky Company's bottling of Arran single malt features a hand-drawn illustration of the artist, Emily Chappell, and a friend on an ill-fated kayaking trip. The label depicts the two shipwrecked on an island, signalling desperately to the Waverley cruise ship (which runs from Glasgow to Arran). The eagle in the foreground is a reference to the nesting eagles which postponed the building of the Arran distillery during the 1990s. A small batch, cask strength release, this is a deliciously coastal, malty, citrusy single malt, typical of the distillery. Citrus and spice dominate the nose, with hints of salted butter, nutmeg and malt loaf. On the palate malt and orange zest feature, alongside hints of tropical fruit, creamy vanilla and digestive biscuits. A hint of marmalade and dark chocolate feature on the long finish. Only 459 bottles were produced of this highly collectable Batch 2 release and each is individually numbered.
