Produced from low yielding 30 year old vines, this wine displays mouthwatering honeyed aromas of apricot, pineapple and orange peel set against a subtle suggestion of ginger and almond. Full bodied and medium sweet with beautifully balanced acidity and a concentrated depth of flavour, this wine would pair superbly well with a wide range of fruit based desserts.
Produced in northern Hungary since the seventeenth century, the world famous sweet wines of Tokaji have long been admired for their remarkable flavour, transcendent complexity and incredible longevity. Made from a blend of indigenous varieties, and influenced by botrytis affected grapes, there is no other region in the world that can produce wines in quite the same style. This particular example, made by Tokaji Classic Winery, is a late harvest wine which, although is less sweet than other examples, is still remarkably complex.
