1831 In 1831 Benjamin Harvey opened a linen shop in a terraced house on the corner of Knightsbridge and Sloane Street in London. |

1880 The present building was constructed including the front section and facia. |

1919 In 1919 Harvey Nichols was bought by Debenhams and in 1985 became part of the Burton Group. |
|
|
1991 In 1991 the store was acquired by Dickson Concepts (International) Ltd and embarked on a major refurbishment of the Fifth Floor Foodmarket, Restaurant, Bar and Café. |

|
1996 In April 1996 Harvey Nichols Group plc was listed on the London Stock Exchange. The Group went on to launch The OXO Tower Restaurant, Bar and Brasserie on London's south bank and Prism Restaurant and Bar in the City of London. |

1996 In October 1996 Harvey Nichols opened its second UK store in Leeds, Victoria Quarter. |

2000 In May 2000 the first overseas store in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia was opened in a store complex designed by Sir Norman Foster, with award winning interiors by Hosker Moore and Kent. |

2001 2001 saw the opening of the first small format store at the Mailbox centre in Birmingham. |

|
2002 In 2002, Harvey Nichols opened it's first Scottish store at St. Andrew Square, Edinburgh. |

2003 January 2003 saw Harvey Nichols return to private ownership and de-listed from the London Stock Exchange. August 2003 saw the opening of its fifth UK store in Manchester. |

2005 September 2005 was a busy month for Harvey Nichols, with the opening of two new stores, both outside of the UK. The Hong Kong store opened at the beginning of the month at the Landmark centre in the city, followed by the opening of the first Irish Harvey Nichols at the Dundrum retail centre, a few miles South of Dublin city centre. |

2006 At the end of February 2006, the magnificent Dubai store opened to the public and became an instant luxury landmark in the city. In October 2006, Harvey Nichols opened its first Turkish store in the historic city of Istanbul. |

2008 September 2008 saw the opening of Harvey Nichols Bristol, the sixth UK store. Later in the year Harvey Nichols opened its latest international store in the Indonesian capital, Jakarta. |

2010 Our second Turkish store opened in Ankara in June 2010. It is situated in the Kent Park Mall and covers 4,100 square metres of retail space. |
