Established in 1776, Louis Roederer is one of the few remaining independent, family-owned Champagne houses. By 1876 the House had achieved such a reputation for quality that the second Louis Roederer was asked by Tsar Alexander II to create a new Champagne, Cristal, for the exclusive use of the Russian Tsars.
Cristal Rosé is made exclusively from the best grapes of Louis Roederer’s own ‘Premier Cru’ vineyards which are all organically farmed. Made from a blend of 56% Pinot Noir and 44% Chardonnay, a proportion of the wine was vinified in oak, giving the wine a full, round body and texture that is characteristic for the House style. Cristal Rosé champagne is aged, on average, for six years in the cellars of Roederer and left for another eight months to rest after disgorging in order to attain the perfect balance. Cristal Rosé 2007 is a great classic of freshness and substance that really allows the terroir to express itself, in a concentrated, pure and precise wine. On the nose, it is intense, almost salty, with notes of dried petals, white pepper and zests of blood orange. The palate is juicy and unctuous with sappy tannins that give this cuvee a solid structure. The long and persistent freshness, enhanced by the perfect dosage, provides a long, delightful finish.£71.33 per 100.00ml
