Dickson Poon - Chairman
Dr. Poon has been Chairman of Harvey Nichols since October 1991. Through a family trust; he wholly owns Harvey Nichols Group Limited, and he is the majority shareholder of Dickson Concepts (International) Limited, which is listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, and S.T Dupont SA, which is listed on the Paris Bourse, Dr. Poon is the group executive chairman of The Dickson Group, which he founded in 1980. The Group's retail network, currently totals 451 shops worldwide, comprising 67 in Hong Kong, 234 in the rest of China, 3 in Macau, 108 in Taiwan and 39 across Singapore, Malaysia and the Philippines, plus marketing subsidiaries throughout the Far East and major European markets.
Joseph Wan FCA, FCI Arb - Chief Executive
Joseph Wan, a Chartered Accountant and Chartered Arbitrator, became Chief Executive of Harvey Nichols in August 1992, having previously been the group finance director of Dickson Concepts for five years. Prior to that he spent nine years working for KPMG in Hong Kong and London. He is also a Fellow of the Institute of Directors and The Royal Society of Arts. He is currently the non-executive chairman of S.T. Dupont SA, which is listed on the Paris Bourse, a fellow subsidiary of Harvey Nichols.
Patrick Hanly - Commercial Director
Patrick Hanly was Sales Director of Harvey Nichols from 1987 and became Commercial Director of the Company in March 1996. He commenced his career in retailing with Liberty of Regent Street and went on to hold various senior positions in retailing, buying and merchandising with the Debenhams group in the UK and the Edgars Stores group in South Africa, before joining Evans, a division of The Burton Group in 1983. He is a member of the Institute of Directors.
Julia Bowe - Marketing Communications Director
Julia Bowe, joined Harvey Nichols in May 1998 from Liberty Plc where she held the position of Marketing Director. Previously, she worked for the Austin Reed Group where she was responsible for marketing the retail and wholesale brands within the group. She has a BA (Hons) degree in business studies and marketing, and holds a diploma of the Chartered Institute of Marketing. She is a member of the Marketing Society.
Averyl Oates - Buying Director
Averyl Oates joined Harvey Nichols in October 2004 from Harrods, where she held the position of Womenswear Merchandise Director. Following a BA degree in Music she commenced her fashion buying career at Laura Ashley. More recently she held the position of Global Retail and Merchandising Director at Emanual Ungaro in Paris and prior to this, the position of Vice President / GMM at Donna Karan in New York, responsible for the buying and operations of the Retail division.
Maninder Gill - Legal & Human Resources Director
Maninder Gill joined Harvey Nichols in January 2006. He previously held the post of Group Secretary and Legal Director at Northern & Shell PLC, the publishing and broadcasting group. At University he read Law and went on to complete a Masters Degree in Intellectual Property Law before joining law firm Peter Carter-Ruck and Partners. He was called to the Bar in 1992, qualified as a solicitor in 1995 before taking up employment at Northern & Shell in 1998.
Martin Schofield - IT & Logistics Director
Martin Schofield joined Harvey Nichols in February 2003 as Head of IT. His career began with the Burton Group where he held a variety of IT positions before moving to Debenhams as Business Systems Manager for Retail. He then joined Burberry in 1999 as Retail Systems Manager with IT responsibility for UK and European retail operations. Martin was promoted to the Board in July 2006 as IT & Logistics Director. He is a member of the Institute of Directors.
