New collections on the catwalk

The most eagerly-anticipated event in Birmingham's style calendar, the Harvey Nichols Fashion Show returns next month, highlighting a host of new collections that have been introduced at the luxury store.

First launched five years ago, the shows have established the award-winning store at the very forefront of style in the region - and SS10 will be no different.

Over the past few weeks, brand new lines - many exclusive to Birmingham - have been introduced, including Markus Lupfer, Polo Ralph Lauren, Wildfox, Elizabeth & James, Paul & Joe Sister and Amanda Wakeley. These will be showcased on the catwalks alongside designer favourites from Gucci, Dolce & Gabbana and Roberto Cavalli.

The Fashion Show will be staged at the Mailbox store on Tuesday March 2, with a Champagne reception from 6.30pm. Tickets cost £15 and include a luxury goody bag and the chance for some after-show retail therapy.

The event highlights the work of hot new artist Helen Steele, using one of her striking pieces of work on the invitation. The Irish talent - originally a fashion design student - is very much a rising star.

Wild styles from Wildfox!

A favourite of Cheryl Cole, Halle Berry, Megan Fox, Lindsay Lohan and Katy Perry, Wildfox Couture is the season's most talked about T-shirt label - and it's now available at Harvey Nichols.

The cutesy collection features a range of tees with stand-out slogans such as 'Born To Be Wild', 'Fangs Are Fantastic', 'I Love Boys', and 'It's Only Rock 'n' Roll', as well as cat and skull images. With a quirky humour and a range of colours, the tops have become a hit with A-listers and fashionistas alike who want a casual look that oozes quality, originality and stand out from the crowd.

The American cult brand was launched by childhood friends Emily Faulstich and Kimberley Gordon, with inspiration coming from Native American artwork and vintage rock 'n' roll fashions. The company's President is world-renowned jazz saxophonist Jimmy Sommers, who has helped propel Wildfox by cultivating a strong celebrity following and getting the fashion press talking. Prices start from £65.

From the wilds of Australia

Cuddlier than a koala bear and hotter than Hugh Jackman, Australia Luxe is the A-list label the celebrities turn to when they want to look cool in the cold.

Their new shearling-lined boots are the ultimate must-haves when it comes to fashion footwear - and they have now launched at Harvey Nichols Birmingham.

With prices starting from £245, the collection of foot-warmers includes ankle, calf and over-the-knee boots in a range of on-trend colours, with details such as shearling trim and striking studs. Fans include Paris Hilton, Megan Fox, Jessica Alba and Sienna Miller.
