Harvey Nichols Istanbul

Best International Retail Interior at the Retail Interior Awards 2007

Harvey Nichols Instanbul

Harvey Nichols Istanbul and its interior design agency Four IV picked up the prestigious title of Best International Retail Interior at the 2007 awards with a concept that seems to fuse an Eastern bazaar with English opulence.

The first Harvey Nichols store in Turkey shows why Istanbul has a new-found confidence that it can go its own way without recourse to Western European retail norms. Fit for a pasha, this store has the glamour of crystal in its windows and a showy yet sophisticated gilded interior that will make shoppers feel they have been transported back to the days of the Ottomans. It also happens to be in the hyper-modern Kanyon centre where it forms the centrepiece for one of the latest shopping developments in this city that represents the gateway to Asia.

Harvey Nichols and DDB triumph in the Gunn Report 2006

Harvey Nichols' Calendar campaign has officially been announced as the world's most awarded piece of print advertising by the Gunn Report 2006. The Gunn Report is a highly prestigious worldwide 'advertising awards league' which combines the winners lists from the top 36 global creative awards such as Cannes, D&AD, The Clios and The One Show. Calendar took first place as 'The Most Awarded Print Campaign in the World'. The report review states that the campaign had 'already won its Cannes points (with twin Golds) and continued to win, everywhere it was entered'. Harvey Nichols' creative agency - DDB London - comfortably came top as 'The Most Awarded Agency in the World' and Harvey Nichols ranked as the sixth 'Most Awarded Client in the World'. As well as being recognized by the advertising industry, the campaign received very positive feedback and PR coverage from the media including Elle, Harpers & Queen, and Vogue.com, and fashion industry luminaries such as Alber Elbaz of Lanvin.

The campaign ran in Spring/Summer 2006 and conveyed the message that Harvey Nichols is the ultimate fashion store. The creative idea suggests that our merchandise is so highly desirable that people will be prepared to make extreme sacrifices in order to acquire it, such as eating baked beans on toast every night for dinner in order to possess a pair of stunning platform satin shoes, or staying in every night for a month completing a 1,000 piece jigsaw puzzle in order to possess a beautiful must-have handbag. This is based on a universal truth about the way fashion-lovers shop - they love fashion so much that it takes priority in their life.
