Denim Tailoring
Denim, fabric of that ubiquitous wardrobe staple, the jean, has found a new direction for Spring/Summer 2009 - tailoring. Lanvin was at the forefront of this movement via their collaboration with Danish jeanswear maestros, Acne and their show was full of tailored denim jackets, trousers (not seen since the 80s) and shorts. DSquared2 opted for the 70s pimp look with their three-piece suit with waisted jacket & waistcoat and retro boot-cut trousers but separate the pieces and a very wearable, modern take on tailoring lies beneath.
