ORDER ACCEPTANCE POLICY

"Order Acceptance Policy" means the policy of harveynichols.com Ltd regulating the ordering and cancellation of orders for Products.

Order acceptance and the completion of the contract between You and us will take place on the despatch of the Products ordered by You unless we have notified You that we do not accept your order or the order has been cancelled. Please refer to 'How do I change or cancel an order' for further information.

Non-acceptance of an order may be a result of one of the following:

  • The Product You ordered being unavailable from stock
  • Our inability to obtain authorisation for payment or a problem receiving your payment
  • The identification of a pricing or Product description error
  • You not meeting the eligibility to order criteria set out in the Conditions

If there are any problems with your order, You will be contacted by our Shopping Team as soon as possible.

The sales contract is therefore completed under English Law.

We reserve the right to reject any offer to purchase by You at any time.

Delivery Information

You can select a date for delivery of your order based on a calendar provided on the Website for each recipient. The dates You are able to choose will depend on the destination to which your hamper is being sent and the kind of service required.

PLEASE NOTE: A signature is required when your order is delivered.

Standard Service


Standard service is based on a named day delivery basis. Named days are Monday to Friday. We do not offer a next day delivery service at this time. Standard service is offered to all customers.

Premium Service

Harvey Nichols now offers a premium delivery service. This service is ONLY offered to United Kingdom mainland addresses.
Deliveries can be arranged for any morning (Monday to Saturday) or any time on a Saturday. These deliveries are subject to additional charges. Deliveries will not be made on a Sunday.

Premium Service Additional Charges:

Morning (before 12) Mon-Fri    £7.50

Saturday morning (before 12) £15.00

Deliveries to addresses in European Union countries (excluding the United Kingdom and Ireland) can only be arranged by calling our Web Customer Services team on +44 20 8957 5030. These deliveries are subject to additional shipping charges which our Shopping Team will be happy to advise you about. It is the purchaser's responsibility to enter all recipient delivery address details correctly.

Harvey Nichols cannot be held responsible for any inaccurate addresses submitted online.

Missed Delivery


If no-one is at home when we deliver we will attempt to leave your order with a neighbour. We will always leave a card explaining what we have done with your order. If it is not possible to leave your order with a neighbour we will attempt to deliver your order the following day. If we are then unsuccessful we will leave a second card. After that, your order will be returned to our depot. The addressee will then need to call the number on the card to rearrange delivery. If we do not hear from the addressee within one week of leaving the second card we will contact you, the purchaser, to make alternative arrangements for delivery.

Pre-Christmas Deliveries - UK & Ireland

If we receive your order by 12 noon on Tuesday 18th December 2007, we guarantee your order will be delivered prior to Christmas.

The last online orders for Christmas Hampers 2007 will be taken on Tuesday 18th December 2007 before 12 noon.

Christmas Hampers will be despatched from Thursday 4th October 2007, unless otherwise instructed.

FINAL DELIVERIES WILL BE MADE ON THURSDAY 20th DECEMBER 2007.

Delivery is made on a named day basis.

The last named day that can be chosen for Christmas delivery in 2007 is 20th December.

The last named Saturday delivery date is 15th December 2007.

Deliveries to the European Community

Please note that we do NOT deliver to destinations within the EU which are designated part of the European Community (EC) and are zero-rated for VAT. This includes anywhere in the Channels Islands. If you place an order to one of these destinations and it appears to be accepted it will be cancelled at the point of shipment. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

Returns and refunds


We hope You will be entirely satisfied with the Products purchased on our Website but if You wish to return a Product to us then we aim to make it as quick and convenient as possible. Any Product may be returned for any reason within 7 days of the date of despatch so long as it remains in a saleable condition. We will refund the price of the Product and the delivery charge to the purchaser directly. The purchaser shall bear all costs incurred in connection with returning Products to Harvey Nichols. Refunds will only be processed once goods have been received by Harvey Nichols.

Please note that, with the exception of faulty merchandise, we cannot exchange or accept the return of certain Products which have been opened and used. i.e. Foods that fall into the following categories:

  • Perishable goods (for example fresh food)
  • Food if the seal is broken

To this end, it is our policy that we do not exchange food, beverages or any other Product that may come into contact with the person.

This does not affect your statutory rights.

When your order is completed online, You will receive an acknowledgement confirmation e-mail, which contains the order reference number and full details of what has been ordered.

Exchanging or returning a Product to a Harvey Nichols Store:


  • The customer is responsible for all costs incurred in connection with returning products to Harvey Nichols unless the reason for the return is that the product is faulty.

  • Take the Product and your despatch note to the Foodmarket department and tell the foodmarket manager you bought it online.
