Firefly Tonic's new range of anti-oxidant infused waters are now available from Foodmarkets nationwide. The waters, which have been created using pure spring water infused with healthy natural ingredients, are light, refreshing, low in calories and rich in anti-oxidants. 

Created using an innovative way to add natural sweetness, each water variety is infused with Organic Agave Nectar, pressed from the Mexican blue Agave cactus (also used in the finest Tequilas) which acts as a low-GI natural sweetener.  All three drinks are 100% natural, with no added sugar, no artificial sweeteners, colours, stabilisers or preservatives . Additionally, each Firefly water has approximately one third of the calories found in typical juices and soft drinks (all have less than 15 calories per 100ml). 

The new range, priced at £1.50 (per 500ml), includes:

. Green tea & Mint - this is deliciously light and refreshing and contains the equivalent of 1½ cups of green tea.

. Redbush & Acerola - combines the equivalent of four cups of South African Redbush (Rooibos) tea, known for its high polyphenol content, along with a dash of Acerola cherry, known for its ultra-high Vitamin C concentrate.

. Yerba Maté, Lime & Lemongrass - contains South American Yerba Maté, known for its anti-oxidant and mood-lifting properties, along with a cup of black tea (for extra polyphenols), a squeeze of lime and a touch of lemongrass - a heavenly combination.

Frozen Mango Margarita (above) -

A truly refreshing drink that looks as good as it tastes. Use either fresh ripe mango or mango nectar to create a really beautiful, vibrant colour (serves 1):

Ingredients:
30ml Cuervo Traditional tequila
20ml Cointreau
5ml fresh lime juice
50ml mango puree
Sugar and lime wedge to garnish
Glass: martini

Method:
Combine the first four ingredients in a blender with ice until smooth. Rim the edge of the martini glass with the lime and sugar and pour in the drink.

Albi Active Pretox Drink Alibi now available nationwide

Believed to be the world's first active pretox drink, Alibi is designed to prepare the body and process toxins, including those which may typically occur from consuming alcohol. This is a herbal-citrus drink made from natural ingredients including milk thistle, artichoke and gingko extracts, vitamins and amino acids.

Alibi can be consumed by itself or as a mixer with alcohol in simple long drinks and other cocktails.

With a spring water base, Alibi's unique fruity citrus taste comes from the Californian Ruby Grapefruits and Tuscan Limes chosen for their unique flavour when combined. The natural herbs are each sourced from different countries and, once brought to the UK, all the goodness is carefully extracted.

The Alibi innovation lies in its distinct difference from detox products and regimes which are geared to deal with toxins at a later stage. It most closely belongs to the small but notably dynamic category of nutraceuticals, which are known as products with ingredients considered to provide specific health benefits.

New to the Foodmarkets is a range of naturally aromatic olive oils created by Ferran Adria of El Bulli Restaurant. In partnership with expert Spanish oil-maker Borges, the Michelin starred chef has devised eight different infused oils and dressings to accompany an assortment of dishes.

Combining the origin and tradition of the best Spanish oil, together with the innovation and creativity behind the world's greatest Restaurant of 2007 (as voted by Restaurant Magazine), each oil is 100% natural with no added preservatives, flavours or colourings.

The eight part range includes the following flavours:

  • Four Peppers - A mixture of peppers in two stages of ripening (white and black) with Szechwan pepper and pink peppercorn. Ideal with meats, fish, seafood, crustaceans, vegetables and rice
  • Fried Garlic - A classic Spanish ingredient, very suitable to use as the base for home cooked sauces such as garlic and green sauce and the famous Basque fish sauce "pil-pil"
