The Bitter Truth in a bottle

New range perfect for summer cocktails

Turn your cocktails into professional masterpieces with a range of bitters at Harvey Nichols Birmingham.

The Bitter Truth collection has been specially designed to offer budding bartenders a broader palette of seasonings and include Orange, Orange Flower Water, Lemon, Aromatic, Jerry Thomas' Own Decanter and the frequently requested Celery Bitters.

Originally used as a medicinal elixir, bitters became a popular way of adding a distinctive taste to drinks. In the early 1900s, there were dozens of varieties available - until the 1906 Pure Food and Drug Act came into play.

Founded in 2006, The Bitter Truth collection pays homage to the bygone golden era of the cocktail bitter, and has been created to add an extra depth of flavour to drinks.

They cost £15 each, while the Jerry Thomas' Own Decanter is £16.50, and you can find the complete range in-store.

Latest designer collaboration

Lara Bohinc teams up with Tanqueray

Following the success of the collaboration with fashion darling Giles Deacon last year, Tanqueray launches a new collaboration with innovative accessory designer Lara Bohinc.

Launching exclusively at Harvey Nichols this month, the collection includes two hand-crafted crystal glasses and a bottle of martini, presented in a luxury gift box.

Having worked with the cream of the fashion world, Bohinc's design of jewellery, bags and accessories is renowned for its blend of the classic and modern, with the bold use of precious metal becoming something of a signature. Her creations have adorned style icons such as Sarah Jessica Parker, Kate Moss and Elle Macpherson, and are known for their refined elegance and entrancing individuality.

Her inspiration for her work with Tanqueray No.Ten Martini came from a building in Brasilia designed by the architect Oscar Neimeyer - an "upside down building", as Lara describes it.

The boxed collection costs £100 and is available from the Foodmarket and Wine Shop in-store.
