September 2006 - Metallic Skin

Harvey Nichols

Each of the windows of the Knightsbridge store have a shiny metallic sculpture in gold and silver positioned within them. These sculptures are made of lengths of shiny reflective gold & silver metal strips that are joined together to form various curvy fluid shapes.

The sculptures sometimes look similar to the wings of a bird, whilst other sections of the sculptures are covered with gold and silver discs that hint at animal references e.g. sometimes the discs appear to represent leopard spots and sometimes lizard skin.

Atmospheric blue lighting enhances the shape of the scheme by creating interesting shadows and sparkles of light that reflect in the sculpture.  Some sections of the sculptures revolve to add more interest.  Motors are also used to turn some of the mannequins.

Within this window run the female and male mannequins are positioned both suspended and standing on the floor and are dressed in A/W 06 fashions.

July 2006 - Blown Away

Harvey Nichols

This Knightsbridge window links into the smartening up of fashion for AW06 and the use of traditional; tailoring both in Menswear and Womenswear.  Mundane everyday office equipment is placed within each of the windows, each piece of furniture is transformed by being covered in a mixture of traditional men's suiting fabrics.

Twisting around the office furniture is a giant sculpture made up of a sheet of 'paper' that blows across all of the windows.

Wind swept male & female mannequins, dressed in AW06 fashion are positioned amongst the office equipment and giant 'paper' sculpture.
