When it comes to contemporary British furniture and interior design, one name seems to stand out from the crowd - Terence Conran. Since his early design dabblings back in the 1960s and the creation of the seminal Habitat brand, he has gone on to become a household name that represents all that is healthy and successful about the British craft.

And now for the first time Conran has brought some of that creativity to Harvey Nichols. A boutique dedicated to Conran's bed and bathroom collection, Bed by Conran has opened for business on the Fourth Floor at the London store in Knightsbridge. The boutique is stocked with the best of the line that sees Conran collaborate with bedlinen experts Dorma. Bed by Conran is centred around 100% cotton percale designs - duvet covers, sheeting and plain hem or Oxford pillowcases, complemented by vibrant silk cushions and quilted throws. There are some exclusive-to-Harvey Nichols designs, such as the Daisy range (above left) a crisp and modern navy-on-white collection. The line continues into the bathroom with accompanying toiletries, ceramics and luxuriously thick 800gsm towels.

But if you want to dip your toes just a little deeper into the ocean of Conran design, you'll find that the collection is complemented in-store by some highlights of Conran's furniture design endeavours. Successful pieces from the Content by Conran and the new Light by Conran ranges are available to buy alongside those crisp cottons.
