Burberry Prorsum Bottega Veneta |

This Autumn/Winter sees a touch of razzle dazzle, with the menswear collections mixing up super shiny fabrics with more traditional attire. Designers seek inspiration in everything from historical England to exotic Indian lands, resulting in some sumptuously rich and inspiring pieces. Persian inspired gilted fabrics and gold detailing appear throughout the Alexander McQueen collection, following the designer's trip travelling through India. Gold metallic detailing and metallic embroidery compliment the shiny, sharply tailored suits, which sit alongside a rather more bohemian collection. High shine shirts in autumnal colours and metallic sheen cravats sit under matt woollen overcoats and blazers, for a sixties inspired collection from Christopher Bailey at Burberry Prorsum. A rich palette of autumnal colours from faded purples, moss greens, charcoals and chestnut offer another sophisticated and luxurious menswear collection. For a more conceptual outlook to menswear this winter, Thom Browne's collection is sure to get you thinking. Plastic printed ponchos and transparent rain coats sit over super high waisted trousers and sharply tailored ensembles for the ultimate offering of matt versus shine. With influences from a bygone era, the menswear Lanvin collection sees neutral tones of navy blue, grey and camel for the season. Suits are made with a sheen and cut a slim silhouette, as neatly fitting jackets and trousers sit just that little bit above the ankle, and compliment glossy satin evening shirts. Finally Bottega Veneta offers wide legged trousers and a play on proportions in Tomas Maier's latest collection . Teamed with work wear inspired leather jackets in browns and soft greys, there was a noticeable revival of the three-piece suit, a look we're sure to see much more of. |
