Culti is a brand that's really starting to make waves back in its native Italy, not least because it takes what seems to be a unique approach to 'lifestyle' design. With shops now open in many of Italy's premier cities, Culti has arrived for the first time on UK shores with the launch of a landmark boutique at Harvey Nichols London. Now we Brits can get a taste of this matchless and in many ways holistic design ethos.

So what's all the fuss about? Well the Culti concept, brainchild of Alessandro Agrati, is a design aesthetic that combines fashion, perfume, food and interiors in what Culti describe as a 'project of the senses'. Its aim is to appeal to our senses of smell, hearing, touch, sight and taste simultaneously, almost on a subconscious level. For a clearer appreciation of what this actually means, the fruits of Agrati's theory can be witnessed at the company's new hotel La Sommita Relais Culti in the southern Italian province of Puglia. Here luxury and a genuine sense of tranquillity combine in what is a restrained and beautifully peaceful habitat. Materials are natural and colours are kept subtle and neutral for a calming and restful effect.

The carefully considered Culti collection at Harvey Nichols is as practical as it is beautiful and adheres to Agrati's ethos that surrounding yourself with pleasing things will then filter into your psyche and create a sense of wellbeing. The new boutique aims to act as a one-stop-shop for furniture and home accessories that will not only bring high style to your environment but lift your mood while they're at it.
