Escentric and Molecule Fragrances

Molecule 01 is one of two scents launched simultaneously both containing a single scent ingredient - an aroma chemical. As simple as it sounds, this has never been done before.

• Molecule 01 contains only Iso E Super, which on its own is less of an aroma, more an effect. A subtle velvetly woody note vanishes then re-appears after some time. The wearer will notice the impact of the fragrance on other people - Molecule 01 lends radiance to the wearer, giving a pheromonic effect.

• Escentric 01 is packed full of the aroma chemical Iso E Super and is blended with pink pepper, lime peel and orris incense in a new balance. Moving away from the traditional fragrance formula of top, heart and base notes, Escentric 01 moves quickly from top to bottom and lingers on the base note.

Background to Molecule by This Company
The Escentric series is collaboration between the Berlin based perfumer Geza Schoen, and two London operations: ThisCompany, the emotional branding experts and MeCompany, whose graphic work has included Bjork's album sleeves and advertising campaigns for Lancome. Inspired by the mathematical nature of a scent as well as the sensuous side, MeCompany explored this idea in the graphics for Escentric 01, depicting the binary code on the bottle.

As their names suggest, Molecule 01 and Escentric 01 are the first in a series of congruent fragrances. The revolution starts here....

• Molecule 01
Molecule 01 contains only the aroma-chemical Iso E Super, which, on its own, is less of a fragrance than an effect. The wearer may notice a subtle, velvety, woody note which will vanish, then re-surface after some time. More than this, she or he will notice the impact the fragrance has on other people, because Molecule 01 lends an indefinable allure to the wearer. In fact, its effect is almost pheromonic.

• Molecule 02
Molecule 02 is based on ambroxan, a nature-identical aroma-chemical. Molecule 02 has a distinct nutty, warm scent that is a symphony of boronal, ambrinol and its best-smelling aromatic part, ambroxan. This fragrance has an almost mineral smoothness which subtly expands to envelop you.
