OXO is 20
A lot has changed since OXO flung open its doors in September 1996. Back then, Spice Girls and Peter Andre were topping the charts, the # was likely to be the least worn out key on your computer and the humble avocado was barely gracing a brunch menu anywhere.
This year, OXO turns 20, and while a lot may have changed since we opened, we continue to enjoy our beautiful position overlooking St Paul’s and the Thames, serving our delicious, seasonal menus. However, here are some new additions to OXO in honour of the big 2-0.
Limited Edition Champagne Label
Celebrate in style with our limited edition OXO Champagne bottle – the perfect way to kick off your meal at OXO.
What better way to celebrate a birthday than with something sweet. Or, in this case, with three desserts and three fine wines to match. We know how to do things right.
Each wine has been selected to coincide with a special year in OXO’s life – a vintage madeira from 1885 to celebrate when the OXO Tower (back then a power station) began construction, a delicious Château Lafaurie-Peyraguey from 1996 to celebrate the year we opened for business and glass of our very own OXO Champagne to bring the celebration right up to date.
We collaborated with CRATE Brewery on a special pale ale that’s an unbeatable refreshment after a long day and paints a picture of our 20-year history, too. Combining notes of blood orange, grapefruit and a hint of elderflower, this delicious drink is best enjoyed on the OXO terrace.
OXO’s four ‘Not Afternoon Tea’ plates are available for £20 in honour of this special year. We would be nothing without London, so to pay homage to our favourite city in the world, we’ve also created a very special London ‘Not Afternoon Tea’ that will take you on a journey through the city, from London’s famous markets to our favourite cockney rhyming slang. The London ‘Not Afternoon Tea’ Experience is available fro £36 per person.
Rewards members are entitled to 20% off lunch in the Restaurant throughout the month of February. We’re glad to see the end of Dry January too, so make a booking for your first sip of Champagne this year and some serious indulgence.
