Adriatico Amaretto Bianco is a unique and innovative expression of the famous liqueur crafted using an almond milk made by slowly soaking crushed white almonds. This creates a subtly creamy liqueur that’s completely lactose free and vegan friendly. A great alternative to traditional cream liqueurs especially for those who prefer something a little drier and lighter. We love the notes of blanched almond sweetened almond milk marzipan clotted cream honeycomb toffee vanilla and that delicate hint of cherries (geeky side note: one of the major compounds that make cherries taste the way they do is benzaldehyde which is an almond-like flavour). All in all the experience is almost like drinking a silky blend of the finest sugared almonds.
As it’s white Amaretto Bianco won’t colour cocktails which makes it super useful for budding bartenders. So it can be mixed into a Liquid Tiramisu cocktail and an Espresso Martini or it can be combined with passionfruit juice and Prosecco to create a riff on a Porn Star Martini. Alternatively sip it neat or pour it over crushed ice with either a garnish of lemon or a little dash of freshly made coffee.
For Jean-Robert Bellanger the dream to create Adriatico began when his Italian mother prepared his favourite dessert tiramisu with a dash of amaretto. So he set out to create 100% natural ingredients amaretto that would showcase the Filippo Cea almonds grown in Puglia. The bottles pay homage to this beautiful area of Italy: the shape is based on the geometry of the stunning Castel del Monte the colour highlights are inspired by the crystal blue waters of the Adriatic Sea and the golden sunshine that bathes the surrounding countryside and there’s even a trullo on there.
