90 points “Notes of clear honey pear orange oil toasted nuts and beeswax introduce Gras’s 2019 Saint-Romain Blanc a medium to full-bodied elegantly textural wine with tangy acids and a saline finish. It’s a blend of wine vinified in new oak with wine vinified in tank and it derives from a wide variety of parcels located all around the appellation. Alain Gras took the helm at this 12-hectare Saint-Romain domaine in 1979 and is today in the process of handing over the reins to his son Arthur. Pretty and precise these keenly priced whites and reds are alike framed by a delicate touch of new oak from Gras's neighbour François Frères. Alain Gras deserves much of the credit for Saint-Romain’s contemporary visibility and reputation and it will be interesting to see what the next generation will bring to the equation. The 2019 vintage has turned out very well at this address and the wines reviewed here come recommended.” – Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate

Founded in 1979 Domaine Alain Gras is one of the most famous and respected producers in Saint-Romain. It creates wine with elegance and finesse that can be found in many of France’s Michelin star restaurants. We adored the crisp notes of fresh mint tangy whitecurrants crunchy peaches lemon zest and salty beach pebbles combined with the richness of buttery toast vanilla and roasted hazelnuts. There’s also a charming waft of smoke that will pair beautifully with grilled seafood or roast ham. A gorgeous Burgundy that’s not to be missed.
