92 points “This side project from the folks at Andrew Will is consistently one of the best values in the state… The palate brings a sense of balance intensity depth purity and sophistication.” – Wine Enthusiast

Involuntary Commitment is a new project from Andrew Will Winery to create a premium field blend from several vineyards in Columbia Valley. Matured in neutral French oak for almost a year it comprises Cabernet Franc Cabernet Sauvignon and a little Merlot. Most of the wines produced at Andrew Will Winery are built for long ageing and careful cellaring but Involuntary Commitment is ready to drink now. Energetic and youthful it dazzles with notes of plum crumble ripe cherry coffee savoury herbs redcurrant tobacco cedar and fresh herbs. And as wine critic Jeb Dunnuck says “it’s a smoking value to enjoy over the coming 5-8 years.”

Chris Camarda had worked in the restaurant trade for almost two decades when he decided to start making wine in 1989. He started in a ten-foot-wide industrial space wedged between two buildings and named it after his son Will and nephew Andrew. Andrew Will Winery. After five vintages he moved to Vashon Island a short ferry ride from Seattle. Chris and Will are artisan winemakers of the highest order. Despite only making around 4 500 cases a year they have helped put Washington State on the world wine map. As the respected expert John Gilman of View From The Cellar explains their bottlings “are amongst the most superb wines made in the US today and are built to age long and gracefully in the cellars and only reveal their entire complement of aromatic and flavour complexities in the fullness of time.”
