This little piggy went to market this little piggy stayed home this little piggy had cocktails…

What do you get when you fill a pig with cocktail? A pigtail of course. Angels’ Share have given this cute little glass porker a summer makeover filled it with a tropical fruit gin liqueur that’s perfect for cocktails and added a pair of cool shades. In those sunglasses it looks holiday-ready and we think this pig might fly.

Although the Victorian Era was filled with gin palaces it wasn’t just out-on-the-town that our ancestors enjoyed their gin. At home wealthy households liked to showcase their collection in decanters called gin pigs. The National Trust Scotland property Brodie Castle in Moray has a pair which inspired this creation from Angels’ Share Glass.

This porcine fellow is carefully filled with 50ml of Tropical Triumph a mango passion fruit pineapple and lime gin liqueur made by Stirling Distillery. It tastes like a Caribbean holiday and sunshine and it can be sipped neat or served over ice. However we much prefer to add it to lemonade or tonic water to create a refreshing cocktail. You can even garnish with your favourite tropical fruit if you’re feeling fancy.

So break open the piggy bank and go the whole hog this summer. And remember once you’ve finished the spirit within this Pigtail can be refilled as many times as you desire with whatever spirit you like.

Named after the whisky that evaporates during maturation in oak casks Angels’ Share creates some of the spirits world’s most beautiful bespoke glassware. From their glass blowing studio in Bridge of Allan Tom Young MBE and his daughter Karen create vessels befitting the most revered distilleries.
