While most Scottish distilleries like to paint a picture of bucolic bliss or the remote wilderness Auchentoshan is a touch more urban. Not far from the tower blocks and tarmac of Glasgow they make their whisky a little differently. Every drop is triple distilled giving a lighter smoother and more floral character than most of their counterparts. This malt is another gorgeously summery dram perfect for balmy evenings but with a very grown-up feel.
Pull the stopper of this 18 Year Old – matured solely in ex-Bourbon casks – to discover notes of tangy citrus green tea spring blossom fresh flowers praline toasted almonds chestnut puree and picnics in the long grass.
