Most of the Tempranillo in the Ribera del Duero red comes from low-yielding 100-year-old vines so expect massive concentration and lots of complexity. 2015 was a hot vintage in which young vines struggled but old vines like these thrived. In addition to the Tempranillo there’s a splash of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot from the oldest part of their La Planta estate. The result is rich rounded and velvety red that’s built for big roasts red meat and game. And packaged inside that wooden case it’s also ideal for gifting.
