The Allegrini Amarone is an Italian classic from the very heart of the Valpolicella Classico region. The Corvina Veronese, Corvinone, Rondinella and Oseleta grapes are dried for up to four months, intensifying and concentrating all the flavours and sugars. This dark, brooding, vegan-friendly wine is aged for 18 months in new oak barrels, another seven blending together in huge oak casks and 14 months in the bottle, adding layers of cumin, leather, caramel and baking spice to the dried Morello cherry, blackberry, mint and barbeque notes. The resulting powerful bittersweet combination works beautifully with the sweet and sour flavours of Asian and Middle-Eastern cuisine, hearty casseroles, roasted game, very mature cheeses and chocolate.

Passed down from generation to generation, this family-run winery is now in the capable hands of Franco Allegrini.
