Rosso Piceno Superiore 2014

Rosso Piceno is a little-known blend of Montepulciano and Sangiovese - two of the most food friendly red grape varieties on the planet - but Harvey Nichols isn’t going to bring you just any old Rosso Piceno. Instead, we’ve found a Superiore that’s been aged in oak for twice as long as legally required.

Crafted by a group of friends called Vini Aurora – located just down the road from where our Harvey Nichols Pecorino is made – this Rosso Piceno Superiore Falerio is a juicy festival of red forest fruits, flecked with bay leaves and potpourri. Vini Aurora’s production is minuscule; making six different wines from just 10 hectares of organic vineyards. So, bear in mind that we don’t have many bottles.

This wine is unbelievably food friendly, so pair with anything from the Italian comforts of pizza and pasta, to wintry lentil stews and even mild curries.
