Limited Edition Banana Cake Rum
Every month, Batch Brew release an experimental spirit in their Batch Innovations range. Limited to only a few hundred bottles of each new batch, the six-strong team in Burnley, Lancashire, push the boundaries of craft distillation. Although usually only available to those on subscription plan, Batch Brew has allowed us to cherry-pick a few of our favourites from their latest creations.
If you love banana bread, you’re going to fall head over heels for this new rum. Batch Brew’s Limited Edition Banana Cake Rum is made with banana, walnut, date and of course cask-aged rum. It delivers exactly what it says on the label; banana bread, foam banana sweets, caramelised dates, cookie dough, Medjool dates, gingerbread and maybe just a hint of toasted marshmallows. What makes it extra special is that, although super smooth, it isn’t overly sweet. So, it can be sipped neat, mixed with ginger beer and drizzled into cupcakes or over ice cream. It would also be incredible splashed into marinades during barbeque season. We’ve gone bananas for it.
Batch Brew use ethically sourced superior ingredients to handcraft premium spirits. They started in the basement of a terraced house in Burnley, Lancashire, but now have moved to a renovated mill.
