Established in 1792 Bodegas Hidalgo is one of the oldest Sherry producers in existence. Now in the hands of Luis Antonio Juan and Fermin Hidalgo (the 8th generation) this legendary producer has captivated wine lovers for over 200 years. 

Triana is named after Droderigo de Triana a local man who sailed to the ‘New World’ with Columbus. Apparently he was in the crow’s nest when what we now call the Americas came into view on the horizon. Tio create his wine the Pedro Ximénez grapes are dried on straw mats to concentrate the sweetness in the grape juice. These are then pressed vinified and aged in soleras of American oak. What emerges from those precious barrels is a dark caramel-coloured wine with a rich and luscious texture. Expect a mouthful of treacle cider toffee juicy raisins figs prunes mocha Medjool dates log fires liquorice and Christmas cake. 

Quite simply this PX is one of the ultimate sticky wines. We adore it with festive fare and indulgent chocolate desserts but it can also be poured over ice cream for a simple but decadent pudding.
