Ferran Centelles was the Head Sommelier at El Bulli, Spain. After sampling this wine blind, he wrote the following glowing tasting note for Jancis Robinson’s Purple Pages:
“I immediately understand this is a serious wine at the first smell. The fruit is somehow riper than the previous wines, and noble oak adds complexity. The winemaking is obviously good. The completely ripe fruit is precise on the palate, and the toast and smoke give an aristocratic touch. Fairly firm acidity and long finish. This is definitely a Garnacha to age.”
