21 Year Old Unpeated Single Malt Scotch Whisky
Once gone, there will never be another.
Caperdonich – meaning ‘secret well’ – was founded on the banks of the River Spey in 1898 as a partner to Glen Grant. After false starts and several changes of ownership, the tumultuous history of this Speyside distillery came to an end in 2002, when it was closed for good and has subsequently been dismantled brick by brick. Luckily, some of the fabulous spirit produced here was rescued by the Chivas Brothers and is slowly filtering on to the market as part of the Secret Speyside Collection. However, because the distillery no longer exists, when this precious liquid is gone, it will be gone forever. And no amount of wishing at the secret well will bring it back. So, don’t miss out on this fleeting opportunity…
Matured for over two decades in first-fill American oak, Caperdonich 21 Year Old is “a sweetie” and, according to the experts at Scotch Whisky Magazine, “it’s a cracker.” Subtly summer and fabulously fresh, this single malt is brimming with notes of lemon posset, russet apples, freshly mown lawns, vanilla custard, barley sugar, poached pear, herbes de Provence, orange zest and spearmint. A relaxing, sunny holiday in every dram.
