Graves Blanc 2018
Château Graville-Lacoste has quickly become one of our favourite summer whites. This blend of Sémillon, Sauvignon Blanc and Muscadelle is unoaked, so the fruit and crisp acidity sing out like bird song on a sunny day.
Just west of Bordeaux you come to Cap Ferret, home to the towering sand dunes of Arcachon and glittering sea filled with oysters, surfers and fishermen. This is where the well-to-do Bordelais go to get away from it all, and they tend to dine at places like La Cabane d’Hortense, where the freshly shucked oysters are divine. The white wine they serve there is Château Graville-Lacoste’s Graves Blanc.
Hervé Dubourdieu’s vineyards were planted by his father in the 1950s in some of the finest terroir for white wine in all of Bordeaux. The mineral, vibrant and citrusy wine he creates at Château Graville-Lacoste is begging to be served with salty seafood, chargrilled treats off the barbeque and anything you can dab at with hunks of baguette.
