Tradition Réserve Chardonnay 2018
£11.50
Tasting Notes
This is an absolute textbook unoaked Chardonnay. Brimming with tropical fruits, ripe apricots and crunchy pears, it’s as refreshing as the winds that blow down off the snow-capped Andes. Pair this with just about anything from roast chicken salads to fresh fish with spicy pineapple and coriander salsa.
Chile is probably the most perfect place on Earth to make wine. Combine that with classic French winemaking techniques and you’re in for something special. Château Los Boldos was established in 1991, around 60 miles south of Santiago in the foothills of the Cachapoal Andes. However, some of their vineyards were planted back in 1948. Château Los Boldos is certified as a Sustainable Wine of Chile, not just for the work in their vineyards and cockerel weather vane-topped winery, but also from a social perspective, ensuring that they improve the quality of life for their workers and neighbours. With a little help from consultant Pedro Parra, of Clos des Fous, and the ex-winemaker at Viña Pérez Cruz, Victor Arce, this estate is producing exceptional wines at a remarkable price. As a result, these are fast becoming our go-to wines for parties.
