Grand Vin Saint-Estèphe 2013 - Château de Pez

Château de Pez

Grand Vin Saint-Estèphe 2013

Château de Pez vies with Calon-Ségur as one of the oldest winemaking estates in Saint-Estèphe. But don’t think that means you’re getting something fusty and old school. Once under the same ownership as First Growth Château Haut-Brion, in the mid-1990s this illustrious Bordeaux estate passed into the hands of the Rouzaud family, who also look after Champagne Louis Roederer, Château Pichon-Longueville Comtesse de Lalande, Domaines Ott, Maison Delas, Champagne Deutz and the famous Port house Ramos Pinto. So this wine rubs shoulders with the great and good of the fine wine world every day.

Silky and expressive, this was a wine that showed huge potential during En Primeur and hasn’t disappointed. It pops with blackcurrant, black cherry, dusty oak, roasted nuts, chocolate, leather and violets. The juicy Château de Pez is a warming wine for dark and chilly evenings, or a great partner to deep, roasted dishes.
