Grand Vin Margaux 2012

Tasting Notes
If you like to be wooed, caressed and swept off your feet by a glass of red wine, then Château Kirwan 2012 is your perfect match. Offering incredible value for such a top-flight Margaux, it’s a kaleidoscope of cherry, blackcurrant, blueberry, roasted coffee beans, pink peppercorns, vanilla pod and summer wildflowers. Silky, smooth and seductive; each sip is like a kiss.
Château Kirwan is quite unique for Margaux as the wine includes one of the highest proportions of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. This estate has been catapulted back towards the very top tier by the tireless work of Philippe Delfaut, formerly of neighbouring Château Palmer, and the world-famous consultant Michel Rolland. So much so that Jancis Robinson considers the 2012 to be “really rather well judged” and Robert Parker called it a “very promising Margaux.” With a history that can be traced all the way back to the Tribes of Galway, Château Kirwan makes a wonderful gift for anybody with Irish heritage and an excellent match to comfort food like Irish stew, cottage pie or colcannon.
