Grand Vin Pauillac 1990 - Chateau Latour

Chateau Latour

Grand Vin Pauillac 1990

This wine has been called a “tour de force” by Neal Martin and “a triumph” by Robert Parker. Jancis Robinson enthused “it’s like a whirlpool, there’s so much underneath”, and when Antonio Galloni tasted it in November 2017 he said “I imagine the 1990 Latour will drink well for another thirty years. What a wine.”

Château Latour - which has been described by Neal Martin as “a supernova around which others orbit” - is the classic First Growth and 1990 was a vintage of epic proportions, making this a must-have wine for any serious collector.

Clinical perfection, poetry in motion, big but remarkably light on its feet; the ‘90 Latour is reminiscent of the late, great Jonah Lomu in his prime. Kirsch and cassis married with cigar boxes, graphite, timeless Pauillac minerality, a roast lamb and mint sauce meatiness and rose petals strewn over antique furniture. When it is absolutely imperative that your wine impresses, few can hold a candle to Château Latour 1990.
